I’m moving to a new domain, not much change from this blog site though, only the now it’s my very own domain for only usd10. Ciao!
Just sharing a shot from our recent meet up at the Souq Waqaf here in Doha:

Set up: One strobe camera lower right
Despite all the internet materials I’ve read for a couple of months now, I still can’t seem to get a hang of strobing, I guess the key is more practice than theory. Anyway, the slack season for us audit guys is coming soon, so I guess I’ll have all the time in the world to shoot to my heart’s content.

Just posting a few shots I took during a solitary shooting night at the Doha, Corniche. I really wanted to take more shots by my camera unfortunately broke down, and I can’t seem to use the manual modes, luckily though, it got ok after I went home. Anyway, some of the shots:

I’m starting to get addicted on this strobist thing, just purchased a new flash, the Canon 580 ex ii, and this sure made strobing easier since i can trigger my 430 ex offcam now. Anyway, I’m thinking of buying another 430 ex or maybe a flash commander, but I’m leaning towards the 430 ex since the price dif is quite negligible. Anyway, sharing one of the shots I took (which isnt much by the way):

Just had an opportuniy to shoot at the 36th floor of Al Bidda Tower, which, by the way, is still under under construction, and which, thanks to our good friend tabs who is the structural engineer of the place, we were able to shoot from. Whew! I dont make sense. Hehehe.
It was a chance of a life time, it totally gives photography a new perspective, should have bought the ultra wide 10-22 canon lens. Anyway, I had to shoot with whatever gear I have. Sharing just a few shots, hope you like them.

There have been rumors that a Greenbelt would spruce up in the Corniche area, wait, wait, not the Greenbelt that most of us pinoys know of, as far as the rumor is concerned, it would probably be just patches of greeneries, or more pocket parks along the Corniche area, some says that, that is the reason the authorities have started tearing down some buildings facing the Corniche. Anyway, as of the present, HSBC has been tore down and more buildings to follow suit. Sharing some shots of the tored down HSBC building:

Sharing some shots from Souq Waqaf, Doha, Qatar. The place is a cultural village featuring Qatar’s traditional structures, crafts as well as lifestyle, somewhat like what we have back home in the Philippines, as Ilocandia, Fort Santiago or the local villages in Banaue.

It’s been unpredictably drizzling when i woke up this morning at 5.30 am. Been wanting to shoot at this time for quite a while now to catch that elusive golden sunrise, but to no avail, to lazy to do so. Anyway, I woke up forcefully to get to a client’s place, which was 90 kilometers outside Doha City. On the way there, we passed by the Doha Corniche, and instead of a golden sunlight, a foggy skyline welcomed us. Took some snaps using my Sony Ericsson P1i instead of my dslr, which to my dismay, is not permitted to be carried in the oil fields. Just sharing some snaps of the foggy Doha Skyline:

This took quite a while, anyway, I’ve started my photographic journey in February 2007, and in less than a year have learned alot, took thousands of shots, spent hundreds of thousands in gears, and met new friends in the process. I know I have yet to learn alot about photography to be able to take good shots on a consistent basis. Just sharing my ten most favorite shots thus far. Thanks for dropping by:
